Who is Anne Rice?

Anne Rice was born on October 4, 1941. Not many people know that her birth name is Howard Allen O’Brien. Her name became Anne on her first day of school. A nun asked her what her name was and she blurted out “Anne,” not wanting anyone to know what her real name was.

Rice is now one of the best-known authors in the genre of horror, mystery, sensual and religious novels. What makes her story more interesting, however, is how she was brave enough to voice out her beliefs. She was not afraid of what other people might say when she became an atheist after marrying Stan Rice. In 1996, she returned to Catholicism, even if it meant leaving her long-life career of writing gothic novels for which she is known for.

I loved Anne Rice for the wonderful work she’s done on the Vampire Chronicles and The Lives of the Mayfair Witches. But with the gift she has for writing and for the diligent work she puts in every work, I know that a lot of people (including me of course) will continue to support her on whatever genre she chooses to write.
